Performing Arts Camp: Rehearsal
Rehearsals are a time and space for learning; we do not separate acting lessons and theatre classes from the rehearsal process; rather Ballibay rehearsals are filled with exercises and activities for the growth of the whole cast as an ensemble, and for individual campers as performers.
Campers may be excused from a portion of rehearsal time for a scheduled lesson or class; but for the most part the entire cast of any production is present for the whole of the rehearsal, working as an ensemble or breaking into smaller groups to work with staff on music, choreography, individual scenes, line study, improvisation, games and exercises, or discussion.
Cast members not needed on stage during part of the rehearsal will also work with the stage manager in collecting props and set painting, or will go to the costume staff for costume selection and fitting. These activities keep the whole of the cast involved in not only performing, but all aspects of the production.
