Artists in Residence

Bethany Jacobson began her career as a video artist and photographer. Her video work has been exhibited at P.S. 1 (NYC), ICA (London) and at various international festivals. She has worked as a writer, director and producer on numerous documentaries and short films including Unmade Beds, Bertolucci In The Bronx, and Let's Go Bowling. She has taught film and video production courses at Pratt Institute, Hunter College, NYU, Long Island University and currently teaches screenwriting and production at Brooklyn College. Her feature screenplay The Electric Virgin received support from the European organization Media II and was selected to attend the 2005 Berlinale Co-production Market. Bethany is working on the development of the project with the producer Andrea Miller, who produced the feature Dark Matter with Meryl Streep, Aidan Quinn, and Chinese star Liu Ye. She has just completed a 30-minute documentary about The Flea, the Off-Off Broadway theater company, shooting various productions, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews of Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Andre DeShields. Adam Rapp and Roger Rosenblatt amongst others.
